The Somali national football team delivered a stunning performance on Saturday, defeating Djibouti 3-1 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier that keeps their historic campaign alive.

Goals from Abdi Warsame, Hassan Nur, and a late penalty from captain Yusuf Duale secured the victory in front of a passionate home crowd at the Mogadishu Stadium.

The win moves Somalia to second place in Group F with six points from four games, just one point behind leaders Ethiopia with two matches remaining.

Head coach Abdirahman Farah praised his players' determination and said the team was focused on qualifying for what would be Somalia's first-ever AFCON appearance.

Somalia's next qualifier is scheduled for October 15 against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam. A draw would be enough to secure qualification if Ethiopia fail to win their match on the same day.
